Periyazhwar has written very many hymns on Lord Krishna ,in all of which he enjoys Krishna avatar from his infancy to adulthood , from Yasodha's view ,by placing himself in her place.

The following are meanings of some of  the verses sung as a lullaby on Krishna's infancy.

                திருத்தாலாட்டு ---[-திருமொழி ]

1--மாணிக்கங் கட்டி வயிரம் இடைகட்டி ஆணிப் பொன் னால்செய்த வண்ணச் சிறுத்தொட்டில் ,
பேணி உனக்கு பிரமன் விடு தந்தான்
மாணிக் குறளனே !தாலேலோ !வையம் அளந்தானே !தாலேலோ !           --------44

**Maanikang katti vayirum idaikatti anni ponalseidhu vann siru thotil peni unaku Brahman vidu
Thanthan . Mani kuralaane! Thalelo! Vaiyam alandhane ! Thalelo!...............................44.

meaning.

Brahma has sent you a cradle honed out of pure gold and held by strings of precious gems intersped with diamonds!
Vamana the bachelor! Hush a bye! One who measured the world ! Hush a bye!

**ஓதக் கடலின் ஒளி முத்தின் ஆரமும்
சாதிப் பவளமும் சந்தச் சரிவளையும் ,
மாதக்க என்று வருணன் விடு தந்தான் ,
சோதிச் சுடர் முடியாய் !தாலேலோ !சுந்தரத் தோளனே !தாலேலோ ! -----49

**Varuna has sent you a necklace made of bright pearls ,gathered from the sea bed,
And tiara made of best quality corals and bangles made of sea shells,
One with lustrous locks ! Hush a bye! One with pretty shoulders ! Hush a bye!........................49.

**கானார் நறுந்துழாய் கைசெய்த கண்ணியும் ,
வானார் செழுஞ்சோலை கற்பகத்தின் வாசிகையும்
தேனார் மலர்மேல் திருமங்கை போத்தந்தாள் கோனே !அழேல் அழேல் தாலேலோ !குடந்தைகிடந்தானே !தாலேலோ !  ----------50

Kanaar narunthuzhai kaiseidha kanniyum vanaar sezhuncholai karpagathin vasigaiyum
thenaar malarmel thirumangai pothandhaal
kone! azhel azhel. Thalelo!kudandhaikidanthane!Thalelo!

**Lakshmi who resides in lotus flowers , flowing with honey, has sent you a garland of fresh tulasi plucked from deep within the forest,
And a garland of fragrant flowers gathered from the Karpaga trees in Devaloka!
Leader of all!  Take all these without crying Hush a bye!
One who is easily approachable and who is reclining in Kudanthai ! Hush a bye!..............................................50.


**மெய்திமிரும் நானப் பொடியொடு  மஞ்சளும்
   செய்ய தடங்கண்ணுக்கு அஞ்சனமும்  சிந்தூரமும்
வெய்ய  கலைப்பாகி கொண்டு உவளாய் நின்றாள்
ஐயோ !அழேல் !அழேல் ,தாலேலோ !அரங்கத்தணையனே !தாலேலோ ! ---52

Meithimirum nanapodi yodu manjalumseiya thadangkanuku  anjanam sindhuramum  veyya kalaipagikondu uvalai nindraal  ! azhel! azhel!thalelo!Arangathanaiyane!Thalelo!

**Durga who has the stag as her vehicle has sent you aromatic powders and turmeric to be smeared on your body,
And colliriyum [kajal] for your eyes and sindoor powder to adorn your forehead,
Oh! Donot cry, Hush a bye !
