Maargazhi thingal madhiniraindha nanalaal,
neerada podhuveer!podhumino neirizhaiyeer!
seermalgum aayarppadi selavasirumeergal'
koorvel kodunthozhilan nandagopan kumaran!
yerrarandha kanni yashodai illam singam,
kaarmeni senghan kadirmadhiyam pol mughathaan,
Narayanane namakku paraitharuvaan
 paror pughazh padindhe lorembavai.

Meaning

In the month of Margazhi on the auspicious day of the full moon all those petite girls of Gokulam who are interested in bathing in the river do join us.
One who is the son of Nandagopan who bears a sharp spear  and has a fierce profession,

One who is the lion cub of Yashoda who has beautiful eyes,

One who is of the hue of rain bearing clouds  with red eyes  and a face that is like a moon which radiates the brilliance of sun,
He is Narayana .He will grant us the boon that is approriate to our penanace.
Take part in this penance that is hailed ,world over.
