Thirupathisaram.

The trip to Tirupathisaram was also along the highly urbanised route and we passed Nagerkoil and took diversion and there in front of me were acres of fields of banana and coconut trees .This view felt like what water would feel to a very thirsty throat.

We were just in time to visit Naideepam --Ghee arti .A splendid sight The moolavar Thiruvazh marbhan was in a seated position ,and surrounded by lighted oil diya's.

The stahala belief is that Sri Lakshmi took fright at the ferocious form of Vishnu as Narsimha and took refuge in this place.Prahalada pacified Narsimha who then became agreeable for Lakshmi to once more take residence in his heart.'Thiruvazh marbhan' means 'Lakshmi resides in his heart'.

The sthala puranam is that sage Agasthya related Ramayana to Hanuman in this very place. It is history that Kulasekara aazhwar renovated this temple and performed its Bramhostsavam.

There are separate sanidhi's for Rama and Natarajar.

Lighting of 100's of lamps every evening seems to be the traditional practise in the temples of Kerala They add to the beauty of these ancient places of worship and make them look ethereal.
