Thirumaalai---43.

A person maybe well versed in the 6 branches of study---[siksha,vyakaran, sathas, nritham, jyothish and kalpam] and may know the 4 Vedas by heart,
He may be a person of high birth and belonging to the highest caste,
Yet,if he insults any devotee of the deity residing in SriRangam[vishnu], that very instant,
He will lose his lineage and become an outcaste!



The verse in Tamil.

Amarave rangarum vedamor nangum odhi,
Thamargalil thalaivara sadhyang thanar kalelum'
numargalil pazhiparagil, nodhiippa thoralavil,
avargal thaam pulaiya polum, arangama nagarullane'.
