Nyasa Dasakam.By Swamy Desikan.Slokas. Meanings in English.

பெருந்தேவி தாயார் ஸமேத ஸ்ரீ தேவராஜ பெருமாள் -வரதராஜ கோவில்  காஞ்சிபுரம்.Perun Devi Thayar sametha Sri Devaraja Perumal  --Sri Varadharaja temple at Kanchipuram.

ஸ்ரீ  தேவராஜபெருமாள்  -வரதராஜ கோவில் காஞ்சிபுரம்/Sri Devaraja Perumal--Sri Varadharaja temple at Kanchipuram.
.

Sri Desikan performed his Saranagadi  [Prapthi/surrender] at the sacred feet of Sri Varadharaja  bhagwan at Kanchipuram.Nyasa dashakam are ten slokas in sanskrit  written by Sri Desikan that state his  saranagadi briefly and lucidly. These slokas elucidate the manner in which saranagadi or Prapthi has to be done to attain Moksham .It also has  his prayer for  attainment of Moksham .Prapthi or surrender to Bhagwan Sriman Naryana is a very important tenet of Srivaishnavism. It is the means to attain Moksham and facilitates the acquisition  of a eternal seat at Vaikuntum .This has been emphasised by azhwars and acharyas down the ages .

It is a long standing tradition to recite these ten slokas whilst performing the daily Aradhana to Sriman Narayana in house holds of Vadagalai ayengars.

Note --Every  householder is expected to kindle a fire -Agni and perform hommam every day in his house.Over the years the  time and leisure to perform them was lost  and Aradhana a shortened version of homam without having to kindle fire in the hom kund, was substituted in its place.
